Scott Campbell Exhibition // Vice Gallery Mexico City

To appreciate this post you will need a little background info. Last week, New York artist Scott Campbell doused his sold out show at Mexico’s Vice Gallery in flames after a fallout with the gallery owner. Read the full details of the story here, it’s pretty interesting.

These are images from what was Scott Campbell’s show before it burnt to a crisp. The moral of the story: Respect is earned, never given.

    Bien joué! Les galeries se prennent tellement pour les rois du monde! Ce sont les artistes les rois du monde et non pas les “agents” à qui ont a à faire parfois l’enfer! Pour qu’ils comprennent que si nous n’étions pas là: Qu’est- ce qu’ils feraient de leur rapacité?
    Tant que je pourrais me passer de tout vernissage, je me sentirai bien!

    Agreed! If there were no artists, then we would have no galleries. Respect the artist and don’t fall in the money/greed trap!

    Very interesting read, I saw this guy’s work a couple of months ago and it’s really cool… would love to see it in real life. I’m also very curious to see what the burnt pieces ended up looking like!
