One Man’s Gum is Another Man’s Art // Ben Wilson

For the last six years London-based artist Ben Wilson has been scouring the streets of London in search of gum that has been left behind by pedestrians. Using a special paint kit, Wilson transforms the used gum into small pieces of art.

The process is not as easy as it sounds. First, the gum is heated up with a burner. A layer of lacquer follows to give the gum a hard surface for painting. A single piece sometimes takes up to a day to complete! Amazing details…
