The Wilderness Downtown // Arcade Fire x Google

August 31, 2010
by

Choreographed windows, interactive flocking, custom rendered maps, real-time compositing, procedural drawing, 3D canvas rendering… this Chrome Experiment has them all. The Wilderness Downtown is an interactive interpretation of Arcade Fire’s song “We Used To Wait” and was built entirely with the latest open web technologies, including HTML5 video, audio, and canvas.

Created by writer/director Chris Milk with the band Arcade Fire and Google, just enter the address of the street where you grew up  and the “The Wilderness Downtown” will take you on a nostalgic experience. Sounds amazing…

Absolutely amazing. Made me all nostalgic and reminiscing about the places I lived in (tried 5 addresses!)

The song is pretty nice too!
