Re-Used // Wood

March 21, 2009

Brazilian born Henrique Oliveira gives new meaning to “old wood.” His installations are made of gathered wood called tapumes (“fencing or boarding” in Portuguese) which he finds on the streets of São Paulo. He uses walls for support and PVC tubing layered with the collected wood to give a 3-d effect he calls “tridimensionals.”

The finished installations are massive! The organic blend of used wood and curves really feels like your walking through a psychedelic forest.

Check out more Tapumes and see how he actually puts the installations together here. Very impressive!
